crate2cloud is run by wi genie Ltd and is currently in private testing. Here is exactly what happens to what you give it.
When you snap a record, the photo leaves your device. It is:
Photos are not published, not sold, and not used to train models by us. The AI provider's own retention applies to the copy they receive — Anthropic's API terms state that inputs are not used to train their models.
The server never stores your token. It is kept in your browser's local storage, sent with each request, used to talk to Discogs on your behalf, and forgotten. It is never written to logs. You can revoke it any time at discogs.com/settings/developers, and clearing your browser data removes it from this device.
To see whether the product actually works, the server keeps a simple event log: that an identify happened, how many candidates came back, the confidence score, and whether a collect or a draft listing succeeded. It contains no tokens and no usernames.
Stop using it and nothing further is collected. To have your uploads or event records removed sooner than the automatic window, or to ask what is held about you, email hello@wi-genie.com and we will action it.
This is a tester-phase build, not a finished product. Identification can be wrong — always check the pressing it picked before you collect or list. Accuracy figures quoted elsewhere come from a 20-record internal test, not a guarantee.
